Disability Protesters Storm UK Parliament During Prime Minister's Questions

About a dozen disability protesters, some on wheelchairs, were stopped by police as they attempted to storm the UK House of Commons during Prime Minister’s Questions, the Telegraph reported Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) According to British media, the activists protested against proposed reforms to disability benefits distribution system, which will see some 2 million claimants reassessed.

"We tried to get down there because the Government needs to listen. We tried to get into the chamber but we were stopped by police," a protester named Mary Johnson said, as quoted by the Telegraph.

According to The Telegraph, “dozens” of police officers and Commons officials prevented demonstrators from entering the chamber.

One activist, a woman, was reportedly “led away” by police.
