Denmark Reportedly Grants Residence Permits to Hate-Preaching Imams

No religious leaders have been denied residence permits in Denmark over the past 10 years, even those who contribute to the radicalization of young Muslims, local media reported Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Danish BT newspaper, a special provision of the country’s Foreigners Act, which bans persons who preach hatred from receiving residence permits, has not had any effect.

This was revealed after Justice Minister Mette Frederiksen had submitted an inquiry to the Danish Immigration Service.

Frederiksen reportedly asked how many religious leaders had been denied residence permits in Denmark over the past decade because they posed a “danger to national security” or “a serious threat to public order.”

The answer was “none,” BT reported, raising the question of whether hate-preaching imams were being granted free rein in the country.
