UK Prime Minister David Cameron should brace himself for his first EU crisis, as the European Commission considers introducing quotas for undocumented migrants, Nigel Farage, the former leader of the Eurosceptic United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP), said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A new EU quota system for distributing migrants across EU member states, based on a country's GDP, population, unemployment rate and the number of immigrants from third countries who have been granted asylum there, is expected to be unveiled on Wednesday.

"Mr Juncker, the [European] Commission President, has made it clear that basically anyone who comes across in the Mediterranean will be resettled within the European Union… I don't want us to be part of a common EU asylum policy," Farage said on the television channel Sky News.

These proposals are part of a plan, worked out by the European Commission, to deal with the influx of undocumented migrants to certain countries in European Union.

The UK Home Office is opposing the deal, arguing that mandatory resettlement will not solve the crisis.

According to the former UKIP leader, even if Cameron attempts to resist, all such migrants can enter the United Kingdom once they are granted EU passports.

"I think Cameron's first Euro crisis has started today," Farage said.
