French police are looking for a group of men who allegedly attacked a 53-year-old Jewish man on Saturday as he was leaving a synagogue in the Seine-Saint-Denis department north of Paris, The Local reported.
The man said he was leaving the synagogue on Saturday afternoon when he was pursued and ultimately attacked by a young man, who repeatedly called him “dirty Jew” and spat on him.
As the victim tried to defend himself, his attacker was joined by two other men, one of whom drew a knife. After passers-by started shouting “call the police!” the attackers fled.
The victim reported the incident on Sunday and police are now working to identify the attackers and to determine the anti-Semitic nature of the incident.
