Two Residents of Spain Detained in Turkey on Suspicions of ISIL Links
13:31 GMT 18.04.2015 (Updated: 13:40 GMT 18.04.2015) Two people from Morocco and Spain are detained in Turkey on suspicions of being linked to the Islamic State extremist group, the Spanish Interior Ministry said Saturday.
MADRID (Sputnik) – According to the ministry, the suspects left the Spanish territory in October 2014 with a baby to join ISIL fighters.
The detained planned to go to Syria through the territory of Turkey, according to the statement.
The two suspects resided in Spain's north African enclave of Melilla.
The detention was carried out jointly by Turkish, Moroccan and Spanish authorities.
