ANKARA (Sputnik) — On Tuesday, the far-left Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) took Kiraz hostage in the courthouse and held him for about six hours.
The two terrorists were killed in the rescue operation. The prosecutor, who was shot several times by the gunmen, died in a hospital.
“The Justice Palace, where Selim Kiraz died, will be named after him,” Davutoglu told reporters after the funeral.
Earlier in the day, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he would shorten his official trip to Romania to be able to meet Kiraz’ family and express his condolences.
