Born in Kazakhstan, Bryjak, 54, became an ensemble member of the Dusseldorf opera for the 1996-1997 season.

Germanwings Airbus A320 crashed in a remote mountain region in southern France on Tuesday morning. According to French Transport Minister Alain Vidalies, none of the 144 passengers and six crew members survived.
The plane was en route from Barcelona to Dusseldorf. French President Francois Hollande said that most of the people on board A320 were German, Spanish and Turkish nationals.
