On March 6, Greece paid the first 310-million-euro installment of the loan back to the IMF. The following two installments slated for March 16 and March 20 amount to over 900 million Euros.

The payout was made after talks began on Greece’s debt to the troika of creditors comprising the European Union, the European Central Bank and the IMF in Brussels on Wednesday.

Greece has been kept afloat since May 2010 by financial aid from the EU and the IMF. It has borrowed a total of 240 billion Euros under two aid packages from the troika.
