The Ukrainian Armed Forces and the self-proclaimed Donbas People's Republics respected the ceasefire agreement during the night.

KIEV (Sputnik) — Kiev forces said on Sunday that the ceasefire was observed in southeastern Ukrainian region of Donbas during the night.

"On the night of March 1, between midnight and 6 a.m. [4:00 GMT] no terrorists’ shelling in the zone of ATO [anti-terrorist operation] was recorded,” the press center of special operation said.

However, the Kiev forces claim that between 16:00 GMT and 22:00 GMT, the militant forces opened fire at the Ukrainian army positions for five times “chaotically.”

On February 12, after 16-hour talks between the leaders of Russia, Germany France and Ukraine, Kiev forces and the militia of the self-proclaimed people's republics of Donetsk and Luhansk (DPR and LPR) signed a ceasefire deal.

Apart from a full ceasefire, the agreement stipulates the establishment of a buffer zone in southeastern Ukraine through the withdrawal of heavy weaponry from the line of contact between the two sides and an all-for-all prisoner exchange.

After the ceasefire formally entered into force on February 15, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) said that with the exception of certain locations the truce in eastern Ukraine was generally observed.
