MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The 16th Russia's humanitarian aid convoy for Donbas is heading towards Rostov region bordering eastern Ukraine, Russian Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) press service said Tuesday.
"The convoy has left EMERCOM's Noginsk rescue center (situated near Moscow) this [Tuesday] morning," the press service said.
In total, Russia has sent over 20,000 tons of food, water, clothes, medicines, power generators and building materials to Donetsk and Luhansk self-proclaimed republics since August 2014.
Ukraine's Donbas have been suffering from a severe humanitarian crisis since April 2014, when Kiev launched a military operation against local independence supporters.
