The military conflict in Ukraine is beneficial to the country's authorities; they are not looking for a victory, they just want the soldiers to keep fighting, according to a combatant from the pro-Ukrainian Dnipro Battalion.

According to media reports, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire no less than five times. Three local residents were reportedly killed as a car was blown up near the small town south of Donetsk. - Sputnik International

The ongoing military conflict in the southeast of Ukraine is beneficial to the country’s authorities, thus they need it to be continued, said a combatant from the 8th Afghan Veterans Company of the Dnipro Battalion, Kamil Valetov.

“We are being accused of not participating in this military conflict,” the website Politnavigator quotes the combatant as saying. “Yes, I am not fighting there now, as I don’t see any sense in this war. “

“They don’t need any victory. We should go on fighting. Because it is beneficial to them (the Ukrainian authorities),” Valetov said.

The combatant was also outraged that those in power accuse true patriots who shed blood for their country, of betraying the motherland. He also slammed the recent arrest of Vyacheslav Fursa, the leader of the All-Ukraine Battalion Brotherhood, calling it a political case and the leader himself – a prisoner of conscience.

Fursa was jailed for having led several dozen All-Ukraine Battalion Brotherhood activists in a protest; they gathered outside the president's office on February 3 to demand martial law and the replacement of Ukraine's top security officials, and made an attempt to break into the building.

The Dnipro Battalion is based in Dnipropetrovsk, which is located near the Donetsk region. It was established in April 2014 to combat pro-independent fighters  and is reportedly partially funded by billionaire oligarch Ihor Kolomoyskyi, thus nicknamed the Kolomoyskyi's battallion.
