Ambassador Says Poland Should Return Accrediattion to Russian Stringer
MOSCOW, January 22 (Sputnik) Sviridov has been working in Warsaw since 2003 but on October 24, 2014, the Polish Foreign Ministry, at the request of the country’s Internal Security Agency (ABW), withdrew his press accreditation without providing any explanation.

A few days later, Sviridov was informed that Mazowieckie Province's Department of Foreigners launched a procedure to revoke his residence permit. According to the journalist, Polish intelligence stated in its investigation that his say in the country represents a "real and serious threat to the national security."

The journalist’s lawyer, Jaroslaw Chelstowski, told RIA Novosti he does not have information on how the Department of Foreigners will notify his client of its decision. “I don’t have information on that,” Chelstowski said.

In December 2014, Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergei Andreyev said Sviridov is being persecuted in Poland for his professional activities.
