MOSCOW, November 23 (Sputnik) —A large proportion of the British population have just less than a month (29 days) to survive on benefits, or assistance from friends and relatives in a financial emergency situation, The Independent said Sunday, citing a report by Legal & General.
Researches previously estimated that an average UK resident could survive for a whole 77 days before losing all income, according to the newspaper.
The report, which will be published in the coming week, found that 36 percent of the British households have "no strategy in place to cope with financial hardship," the paper said.
The Welsh would have the least period of time (seven days) to survive on own or third-party contributions, whereas Londoners would have 83 days to think of an alternative to overcome a financial hardship.
Working British people aged between 18 and 64 would be able to survive on existing financial opportunities for two weeks only, according to the newspaper.
