"The special forces are there, of course, to help ensure that France is present everywhere in the fight against terrorists," government spokesman Stephane Le Foll said in an interview with the radio station France Info.
France has left its trace across Africa and the Middle East. French military personnel participate in peacekeeping mission in Mali, and French air forces conduct airstrikes in Syria and Iraq.
