The German parliament had approved launching a military operation against Daesh (ISIL/ISIS) in Syria. But its military involvement in the conflict could lead to a renewed hatred in Syria followed by many years of devastation, German media writes.

The mission is expected to cost 134 million euros, but is unlikely to bring positive results. Syria and Iraq may return back to chaos and barbarism, repeating the faith of Afghanistan which now lies in ruins after years of foreign interventions, Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten wrote.

Moreover, the planned deployment of German soldiers in Syria is aimed at strengthening German power, rather than fighting terrorism, American journalist Victor Grossmann said in an exclusive interview with Radio Sputnik.
