16:47 GMT 03.06.2015 (Updated: 10:15 GMT 06.08.2022) The US army has banned its personnel from travelling to the zones of the upcoming G7 summit in Germany's Munich and Garmish-Patenkirche in fear of "attacks" by peaceful anti-globalists.
Travel restrictions affect all members of the US army in Europe.
"Family members are also strongly requested to avoid these zones," the US Army spokesman told Der Spiegel.
The statement comes as anti-G7 and anti-globalization activists announced numerous protests.
US servicemen stationed in the area are also advised to avoid wearing their uniforms to "avoid unnecessary confrontation", avoid "unnecessary stops" while in vehicles, and in addition "avoid speaking English so loudly that you draw attention to yourselves".
