Looks like the European Union is teetering on the verge of collapse as the UK threatens with Brexit.

Cameron seeks to revise UK relations with the European Union ahead of the EU membership referendum in 2017, pushing Brussels to reform the system of contributions to the bloc's budget and to grant greater powers over migration control to member state governments.

On May 29, UK Prime Minister David Cameron met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin as part of a round of meetings with European leaders over Britain's potential exit from the European Union.

Following the meeting, Merkel expressed hope that the United Kingdom would vote to remain part of the European Union.

"In Germany there is a clear hope — and it is, of course, up to the British people to decide — that the United Kingdom will remain a member of the European Union."

On Thursday, the British government presented a bill on UK in/out referendum to the parliament. The legislation would see a vote take place no later than December 31, 2017. The question had been formulated "Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union?"
