Russia's Roscosmos state corporation and Rosgeologia geological company on Friday signed a cooperation agreement implying search of natural resources with the use of the space satellites, a Sputnik correspondent reported.

ST. PETERSBURG (Sputnik) — The document was signed by Rosgeologia's CEO Roman Popov and Igor Komarov, the director general of Roscosmos.

According to the agreement, remote sensing satellites orbiting the Earth will be used for exploration of Russia's natural resources.

SPIEF, a major global platform for communication between businesspeople and discussion of crucial economic issues, kicked off in Russia's second largest city on Thursday and will continue through Saturday. The Sputnik news agency is an official media partner of the forum.
