Mexico’s government will cut budgetary spending by 31.7 billion pesos (some $1.69 billion) amid the shock experienced by the local and world economy by British voters' decision to leave the European Union, Secretary of Finance and Public Credit Luis Videgaray Caso said Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the final referendum results, 51.9 percent of British voters, or 17.4 million people, decided to support Brexit, while about 16.1 million opposed it.

"Mexico will react in the same manner as it did before by enhancing its macroeconomic basis, and carrying out responsible fiscal policy," he told reporters.
