MOSCOW (Sputnik) — With the emergency statement that may follow the Brexit referendum, the G7 will try to curb volatility in the global financial markets, in particular to prevent the expected plunge of the British pound, Kyodo news agency said.
According to the news outlet, the intentions of the UK government will also be taken into account by the G7 when deciding on issuing a statement.
On Thursday, British nationals are voting in the referendum to determine whether the United Kingdom should leave the European Union or stay in the bloc.
