Germany Set to Build Nord Stream 2 Pipeline Despite Sanctions, Criticism
ST. PETERSBURG (Sputnik) – He said that the European Commission had no common position on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline with its various divisions continuing the discussion whether the project is a subject to the EU third energy package.

"Energy field was discussed, sanctions were not discussed," Chizhov said.

Chizhov noted that from Russian point of view only one of these positions coexisting in the European Union was right.

Earlier in the day, Juncker said he enjoyed being at SPIEF in Russia despite some people disliking the idea of his participation in the forum.

SPIEF started at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre in St. Petersburg earlier on Thursday and will continue until June 18.
