MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Puerto Rican Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla told reporters in Havana that the office would "promote cultural and commercial exchange," according to Radio Havana Cuba.
Padilla was speaking on the margins of the Association of Caribbean States’ 7th summit in the Cuban capital where he arrived on Thursday. This is the first ever Cuba trip of a serving Puerto Rican governor.
He reportedly had a short meeting with President Raul Castro who expressed a great interest in the prospect of opening a Puerto Rican trade office in the country, the broadcaster said.
