MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Earlier this month, Widodo visited Sochi where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin ahead of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) which took place in the southern city on May 19-20.
"The Indonesian president’s visit to Russia inspired a large number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia <…> this visit gave impulse to the Indonesian businesses to search for partners in Russia to carry out joint ventures," Supriyadi said during a press conference.
During Widodo’s visit, the presidents agreed to step up bilateral cooperation on trade and investment. Indonesia also hopes to attract Russian investment in its fisheries and related infrastructure, railroad projects, the construction of a port facility in the Kalimantan province, as well as oil refinery projects, according to its president.
