HOUSTON (Sputnik) – The International Energy Agency (IEA) hopes Mexcio will join the organization in 2017, IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol said following the release of the Medium-Term Oil Market Report on Monday.

“I am very happy as a head of the IEA that the Mexican government decided to be a member [of] the IEA, and hopefully in 2017 we will have them in the IEA family,” Birol said at the IHS CERAWeek conference in Texas.
