MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Italy's Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, discussing economic relations between the two countries, the Italian Foreign Ministry said Friday.
"Economic relations between Italy and Russia are still high, especially in energy and road infrastructure, mechanics and telecommunications, but there is still room for our countries to deepen cooperation," Gentiloni said in the Foreign Ministry's press release.
Important international issues were also discussed during the meeting, with Gentiloni emphasizing the importance of promoting crisis resolution and international counter-terrorist efforts.
Dvorkovich is on a working visit to Italy between January 5-8. The deputy prime minister has also met with Italy's Economic Development Minister Federica Guidi as well as Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies Minister Maurizio Martina.
