MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Restrictions on work visas for Turkish citizens will not affect certain construction companies with long-term contracts in Russia, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets said Wednesday.
"Such a list has been created. It includes, first and foremost, companies that have long-term contracts with the Russian Federation," Golodets told reporters.
Russian-Turkish ties deteriorated following the downing of a Russian Su-24 aircraft by a Turkish F-16 fighter over Syria on November 24.
In response, Moscow imposed a number of restrictive measures on Ankara. The measures, including bans or restrictions on the activities of Turkish organizations in Russia and curbs on Turkish citizens' employment in Russian firms, take effect on January 1.
