MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The delegation negotiated the lease of two Sukhoi Superjet 100s (SSJ-100) at the MAKS-2015 international air show, held outside Moscow earlier this month.
Iran Aviation Industries Organization (IAIO) Managing Director Manouchehr Manteghi said, as quoted by the IRNA agency, that the company may decide to purchase the SSJ-100s should they perform successfully and their maintenance services prove satisfactory.
Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Andrei Boginsky told journalists at the MAKS-2015 airshow that Iran was considering purchasing dozens of Russian Superjets.
US, Swiss and Indian airlines and companies are among the leasers and customers of Sukhoi aircraft. The Superjet 100 short-to-medium-haul twin-engine passenger plane became commercially available in 2011.
