Russian Energy Minister May Visit Pakistan to Sign Gas Pipeline Deal

RT Global Resources, a subsidiary of Russia's state technologies corporation Rostec and Pakistani Inter State Gas System (ISGS) announced a project to build Pakistan's oil and gas infrastructure in December 2014. The project includes the construction of liquefied natural gas terminals as well as the North-South gas pipeline in Pakistan.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak is expected to visit Pakistan in September to sign an agreement on cooperation in the construction of the North-South gas pipeline, Pakistan's Ambassador to Russia Zaheer Janjua told Sputnik on Monday.

"The North-South gas pipeline project is ready for signature," Janua said.

"We hope that Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak will be able to go to Pakistan for the signing. Novak has been busy and we hope that it is going to happen in September," the diplomat added.
