According to Marinov, Bulgarian investors are interested in the development of production in Crimea on conditions of a free economic zone. Among potential areas of cooperation are canning industry, chees production and greenhouse farming.

Leader of the "Attack" party, Volen Siderov, stated that the majority of Bulgarians support Russia. The party has recently introduced a bill to the Bulgarian parliament to recognize Crimea as a part of Russia and is planning to initiate a referendum, where Bulgarians can express their attitude towards NATO.

The leader of the “Attack” party also expressed fears that the US views Bulgaria as a bridgehead for military aggression against Russia, adding however, that Bulgarian people are strictly opposed to US influence.
