BEIJING (Sputnik) – Over 400 civil aviation staff, police and other personnel took part in the drills, aimed at testing coordination in handling such situations as plane hijacking, Xinhua News Agency reported, citing Li Jian, deputy director of China's Civil Aviation Administration.
On August 11-15, the Chinese authorities conducted large-scale anti-terrorism drills with the participation of about 3,000 military personnel in the country's Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region.
At the end of July, other major anti-terrorism drills were held in South China's Guangxi autonomous region. Over 3,000 people, including public security personnel, armed police and firemen took part in them.
