Earlier in July, South Korea and the United States announced they agreed to deploy the system in the South Korean Seongju to counter North Korea's missile threat. Thousands rallied against the decision.
"Initially Washington pointed out that it has never allowed any outside civilians to tour its facilities even though it operates these batteries in more than eight countries but has decided to make an exception to show that THAAD poses no threat to health or the environment," the source said, as quoted by the Yonhap news agency.
