TOKYO (Sputnik) — The investigation, aided by South Korean and US experts, revealed that turbine blades inside the aircraft's left engine were shattered, while pieces of blades were found along some 700 meters of runway.

At the same time, the turbine's front blades were left intact and no evidence of a collision with a bird have been found, according to the news outlet.

On Friday, Korean Air flight 2708 caught fire on the Haneda airport runway shortly before takeoff. The jet was then stopped and its 319 passengers evacuated, with 19 people receiving injuries during evacuation, according to the Tokyo Fire Department.
