Death Toll in Central China Garment Factory Fire Rises to 6, 7 Injured

The number of killed in a fire at a clothing factory in the central Chinese province of Henan climbed to six with seven people injured, national media reported Saturday.

BEIJING (Sputnik) – Several explosions and a fire at the plant in the city of Zhengzhou were said to initially kill one, followed by reports of two dead and four injured.

The latest toll, updated by the Xinhua news service, comes as an investigation into the causes of the fire is underway.

A total of 26 firefighting teams have been dispatched to the scene, with the fire extinguished by 08:00 GMT.
