BEIJING (Sputnik) – A landslide at a construction site in China’s southeastern province of Fujian left around 30 people under rubble, Chinese television reported Sunday.
Heavy rains in Taining County of Sanming city in the region are suspected of triggering the mudslide at around 5:00 a.m. local time [21:00 GMT], the CCTV broadcaster reported.
It added that the landslide blanketed a dormitory that houses local workers.
Rescue workers and police are working on site, with heavy equipment sent to the region to help in the rescue efforts.
