As many as 327 people were injured and 28 killed in what is believed to be a car bomb explosion in the Afghan capital of Kabul on Tuesday, local media reported, citing health officials.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, a heavy explosion took place in the Pul-e-Mahmood Khan area of Kabul, where the Afghan Ministry of Defense is located. The blast reportedly left six people dead.

Head of the Public Health Ministry's media department Ismael Kawosi confirmed that 198 people were injured in the explosion, A​​ccording to TOLOnews. The channel's correspondent published a list of the victims' names on his Twitter account.

​Afghan President Ashraf Ghani said earlier the explosion had targeted the offices of the country's main security agency.
