TASHKENT (Sputnik) – The earthquake struck near the Central Asian former Soviet nation's border with Kyrgyzstan. Tremors were felt in the country's capital, Tashkent, as well as in the cities of Ferghana and Namangan.
The quake was registered at the depth of 10 km (over 6.2 miles), 160 km (99.4 miles) to the east of Tashkent.
There were no immediate reports on casualties or damage.
