WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The purpose of the training was to detect and destroy weapons of mass destruction in an urban environment, the release noted.
"Two Soldiers with the 501st Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive Company, 23rd Chemical Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, conducted a CBRNE exploitation evaluation during quarterly training at Black Hawk Village," Sergeant Quanesha Deloach stated.
Earlier in March, troops from the United States, South Korea, Australia, Denmark, France and the United Kingdom carried out joint large-scale exercises intended to maintain Seoul’s military preparedness.
Approximately 360,000 US military personnel are assigned to PACOM’s area of responsibility, which the command says includes about half the globe and 50 percent of the world’s population, stretching from India to California and Antarctica to the North Pole.
