BEIJING (Sputnik) – According to the South China Morning Post newspaper, the fire first occurred when the bamboo scaffolding around the building was set ablaze around the 23rd floor.
The fire was 80 meters in height and 50 meters wide, the media reported, citing Poon Wai-lun of the fire services department’s Kowloon Central division.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the blaze, according to the paper.
