BEIJING (Sputnik) — According to the South China Morning Post newspaper, the clashes occurred in Mong Kok, one of the busiest districts of Hong Kong.
Police has reportedly arrested 24 people on charges of assaulting police, resisting arrest, disorder in public place and obstructing a police officer. At least four journalists were also reported injured.
The violence broke out on Monday night and saw the police fire shots and use pepper spray as protesters set fires across the district and threw bricks at the law enforcement personnel.
