"The government has decided to resume broadcasting through the loudspeakers in the direction of North Korea in the afternoon of January 8," the presidential statement read.
The measure follows Pyongyang's first hydrogen bomb test carried out on Wednesday.
The test is a violation of international agreements and commitments by Pyongyang, jeopardizing the August 2015 accord between both Koreas, the statement added.
On August 25, 2015, the two countries reached a deal, stipulating measures to ease tensions on the Korean Peninsula following back and forth shelling instigated as a result of the resumption of anti-Pyongyang broadcasting propaganda along the demilitarized zone by Seoul.
The sides pledged to hold further talks on the issue in the near future.
