MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Kabul's Sherpor area was cordoned off following a blast that occurred earlier in the day close to the Spanish embassy, local media reported Friday.
According to Tolo news portal, a car bomb was detonated near the embassy.
At least two people were killed and seven were injured in the blast, according to Pajhwok Afghan News agency.
Insurgents have reportedly entered a building close to the embassy where they are fighting security forces.
Spokesperson to the Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs Sediq Sediqqi wrote on his Twitter account that police forces arrived at the area of explosion.
