NEW DELHI (Sputnik) – On Saturday, media outlets reported that India have been removed from a list of "safe" travel destinations for Russian citizens.
"While advisories have regularly been issued by Russian authorities for Russian citizens to refrain from visiting certain countries for various reasons, never ever has any of the kind been recommended with regard to India," the statement reads.
The Russian embassy added that there was no official list of tourist destinations recommended for Russian citizens.
