MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to The Huffington Post Australia, shark-detection technology is part of the state government's $11.6-million shark-attack-mitigation strategy to provide online images and current location and movement of sharks.
New South Wales Minister for Primary Industries Niall Blair told reporters that authorities will also test so-called smart drum lines and underwater listening stations in attempts to ensure the safety of swimmers and surfers.
State authorities implemented shark-mitigation technologies after two people died and three were seriously mauled near the NSW coast in 2015.
