A South Australian jury has entered a rare second day of deliberations in the trial of two prisoners accused of plotting to murder two judges, local media reported Saturday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Frederick Bernard Walkuski allegedly offered to pay Hendrik Gysbertus Van Schaik 15,000 Australian dollars ($11,000) to kill judges Paul Rice and his wife Rosemary Davey, according ABC.

The assassination plot was reportedly devised in retribution to a 17-year sentence that Judge Rice had imposed on Walkuski in 2009.

Both Walkuski and Van Schaik denied the allegations, which included firebombing the magistrate couple’s house and setting fire to a chief inspector for an additional $3,650.

The jury failed to reach a decision on Friday, prompting the first weekend session this year.

The broadcaster went on to say deliberation will continue on Monday.
