Afghan Security Forces on Alert After Reports of Pakistan Helping Taliban
14:29 GMT 06.07.2015 (Updated: 14:48 GMT 06.07.2015) Afghan national security forces have been put on alert following reports that Pakistani helicopters have been supplying weapons to Taliban insurgents in an eastern province of the country, the deputy spokesman for the Afghan Defense Ministry said Monday.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Afghan forces received instructions to prevent assistance being delivered to the militants by means of Pakistani helicopters, Dawlat Waziri told reporters, as quoted by Khaama Press.
The official made the statement after reports emerged that Pakistani helicopters had dropped weaponry to the Taliban in the Barmal district of Paktika Province in eastern Afghanistan, the news agency added.
