The image of Kim Il Sung, the founder of North Korea, was not featured at the new Pyongyang International Airport terminal, which Kim Jong Un dedicated to his father, Kim Jong Il.

South Korean media reported that North Korean late leader and Eternal President Kim Il Sung's portrait has mysteriously disappeared from the facade of Pyongyang's international airport.

The old terminal prominently featured the portrait Kim Il Sung, who is also current leader Kim Jong Un's grandfather, on its facade. However, the new release from the North Korean ruling party newspaper Rodong Sinmun does not mention Kim Il Sung's name.

"The terminal is the crystal of the noble loyalty, ardent patriotic will and unremitting efforts of Marshal Kim Jong Un who has been keen to put the aerial transport of the country on a world level true to the intention of leader Kim Jong Il," North Korean state news agency KCNA quoted Politburo member Pak Pong Ju as saying.

North Korea is led by the ideology of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, in conjunction with the ideology of Juche, formulated by Kim Jong Il in the 1980s, promoting self-reliance, and Songun, the idea that the military is the guiding force of society.

"The terminal is an iconic edifice in the Songun era and the proud result brought about by the army and people's devoted fighting spirit, great army-people unity and hot wind of creating a new Korean speed," Pak added.

Kim Jong Un inspected the airport on June 2, expressing a deep remorse at the inability to show the new terminal to his late father, Kim Jong Il.

"Recalling that leader Kim Jong Il gave a series of instructions to build well Pyongyang International Airport till the last moments of his life, Kim Jong Un said his instructions had been implemented at last. I feel deep remorse at the failure to show Kim Jong Il this wonderful terminal, he said," newspaper Rodong Sinmun wrote.
