Pyongyang has test-fired seven surface-to-air missiles into the Sea of Japan (known in Korea as the East Sea) in a launch that was attended by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, sources said.
All the missiles fell into the sea, according to the South Korean Defense Ministry.
The test firing came after South Korea and the United States wrapped up the first of two large-scale annual joint military exercises, which started earlier in March.
