BEIJING (Sputnik) — Search for Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 continues a year after the plane disappeared from radars, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Sunday at a press conference in Beijing.
“Exactly a year ago, on the same day, Malaysia airlines flight MH370 disappeared. A year went by, the plane has not been found, but the search still continues,” he said.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, disappeared from radar screens on March 8, less than an hour after takeoff. There were 227 passengers and 12 crew members on board.
Based on an analysis of aircraft performance data, experts suspect the MH370 crashed in the southern Indian Ocean, but no trace of the plane has been found so far.
