Afghanistan Refutes Claim Territory Used to Plot Terrorist Attacks Abroad

The Afghanistan's Defense Ministry's spokesperson denied claims that the country's territory is used for planning attacks in Pakistan.

MOSCOW, December 25 (Sputnik) – Afghanistan's Defense Ministry has denied allegations the country's territory is being used as a base to direct terrorist attacks abroad, Pakistani news agency Dispatch News Desk reported Thursday.

The statement comes amid Pakistan's concerns over safety at the border between the two countries following the massacre on a school in Peshawar.

"There is no faction or group that is using the territory of Afghanistan against any other country," the ministry spokesperson Gen. Dawlat Wazirir was quoted as saying by the news agency.

During a meeting between the heads of the Afghan and Pakistan armies and NATO chief of Afghanistan John Campbell held this week, it was allegedly confirmed that "Afghanistan land is being used for planning and making attacks inside Pakistan and Pakistan placed irrefutable evidences to Afghan President," the media outlet reported.

Last week, Taliban gunmen attacked a school in Peshawar, north Pakistan, killing over 140 people, most of whom were children. The Taliban claimed the attack had been taken in response to military operations conducted by the Pakistani Armed Forces.
