Zivan Pajkanovic (23) and Nadine Pauser (20) from Vienna, Johannes Spilka (19) from Lower Austria and Markus Waldl (24) and Dominik Zeller (24) from Upper Austria entered Guinness World Record book for the "Longest marathon watching television".
The previous record was 91 hours achieved by six participants from Toronto (Canada), from December 8 until December 12, 2014.
The recent marathon during which the participants watched various programs from Champions League to "House of Cards" took place in Vienna.
According to organizers, each participant was allowed to have a five-minute break after every hour of TV watching. The breaks could be optionally accumulated.
"Towards the end they had big problems," one of the organizers of the event, Moritz Arnold, from LG Electronics, said.
The participants made use of the breaks and had a short nap. The organizers also prepared coffee and energy drinks and provided the young people with a spinning bike and a cold shower.
